I like the G63 AMG.
I am okay with people buying and driving the Toyota Prius.
I don't care for the Miata (but I do respect it).
I think creature comforts and optional extras are often a good thing.
I have no objection to automatic-transmissioned vehicles.
Most of the time, I will refuse to object to anything , "based on principal" or "under a blanket statement". This includes the idea of "built not bought", anti-fanyboying (there is not a car company in the world that I wouldn't drive at least one model of), !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! cars, and any other generalization people make against things.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
I am totally, 100%, without any shame, okay with Porsche making the Cayenne, Macan, Panamera, and whatever else they want to make. It actually irritates me when people complain about them (apart from complaining that the Panamera is ugly, because it is).
I prefer to buy a car from a dealer vs. off Craigslist, although I would buy a car off Craigslist.
Formula 1, and most forms of motorsport, do not interest me.
On that note, I would totally participate in the Gumball 3000.
I do not subscribe to the idea of beating/thrashing/hooning one's car, and wouldn't buy a cheap car, or any car, just so I could trash it (spirited driving is okay, needless destruction is not).
I do not object to the idea of using a luxury car/sports car/SUV as a commuter/DD. Don't listen to people who complain about "wasting a car's potential". Drive whatever makes you happy.
I don't mind crossovers.
I don't have any desire to keep my car going to an absurdly high mileage, and I buy into the idea of lower mileage=higher reliability.
Someone driving a lousy car doesn't mean they have bad taste or aren't smart, it means cars aren't their thing.
I will add more if I think of them.

I think the Ford Expedition should have a 6.2 V8. Yeah, I said it fight me. (As is currently happening on my most recent post)

I agree with everything here. Except the Miata part.

LET ME HAVE MY IDIOTIC OPINIONS OKAY????

Fully agree with everything. +
-Buying old Bentleys doesn't make you look pretentious.

I do respect it.
![]() 11/11/2014 at 19:11 |

For me, that falls under "drive whatever makes you happy."
![]() 11/11/2014 at 19:12 |

Oh, I know. It's totally okay. No trouble.
![]() 11/11/2014 at 19:13 |

I know, but I felt like that bears explaining. I will never trash-talk the Miata, and I get why people like them, but I'd never buy one.

I'll post mine since I'll forever be FP greyed.
-I did not enjoy the Miata
-I don't like the E36 or E46 M3
-I like the Porsche 996
-I didn't enjoy driving manual
-Lancia can die for all I care
-Panamera is sexy
-TUSC is not a bad racing series

I'm for all of this. I secretly like some "tastefully done" stanced cars.
![]() 11/11/2014 at 19:15 |

I agree with more than a few of those - and what the fanboys don't take into account is the huge margins on the Cayenne, Macan, and similar, like them or not, make it possible for Porsche to continually improve the sports cars in the lineup.

You are correct.
![]() 11/11/2014 at 19:18 |

Yeah, everyone has some kind of car they feel that way about.

I love my little 4 banger FWD track toy.

Ferrari hasn't made a car since the F40 that I would buy.

1.) I'm in love with the G63 AMG and GL63.
2.) Miata is meh, but I've never driven one so maybe that's it.
3.) Luxury SUVs are cool, a Cayenne would be a sweet DD.
4.) Some stance is nice, stupid camber is what I don't like.
5.) I love rap music.. If I drove a Ferrari I'd still have A$AP Rocky bumping through the speakers.

Track driving, if done with some vague sense of responsibility, is fine in my book.

Here's mine.
I prefer automatics.
I'd happily drive a Volt and not have a second "fun" car.
I really think all Fords other than the Flex are really not that good looking.
I think all the hate Lincoln gets is unwarranted.
The X5M and X6M are awesome.
The Miata is overhyped and under delivers.
I really don't like diesel in anything other than 3500 trucks and heavy-duty vehicles.
I like the new Camry in XSE V6 form.
I prefer cloth to leather.
I don't think CVTs are horrible.
I'd rather spend $45k on a truck than a sports car.
I'd buy a Kia Quoris (I refuse to call it the K900)
I'd be perfectly happy with a garage consisting of a Dodge Avenger R/T and Nitro 4.0L.
That's all I've got right now.

Sure.
But I can assure you I get a large amount of side eye for being out there in something not RWD/AWD. Also the little 2.0l engine is generally about half the size of most of them out there.

Just read your article. Well written, sir! I prefer old cars but new ones can still stir some emotion.

Thank you for that disclaimer on the one about Fords.

Thank you!

I almost entirely agree, however...
-I like making blanket statements just for fun sometimes. This is especially true when it comes to cars, more specifically non-Mercedes, because I'm a fanboy. I.e. I hate Asian cars and all domestics are crap.
- I'm a craigslist addict and that is pretty much the only place I buy or sell cars.

I never venture to the front page, it's scary out there. For ex: In general, i'm not interested in anything with fewer than 5 cylinders. Sorry miata! S2k, e30 m3... i'll pass

I rather like this list.

Ha. I've never even owned a car with more than 4 cylinders. Someday.

Cobalt SS supercharged
![]() 11/12/2014 at 09:01 |

That's fun. I forget if it's the turbo cobalt or the super charged ss that's horribly unreliable.

it's a lot of fun!! Just not at the pump...
![]() 11/12/2014 at 09:12 |

I haven't had any real trouble and my car is far from stock. Worst thing it did was the alternator crapped out at a track day once, but that can happen to anyone. I keep it in good shape, and it's up for the track abuse.
![]() 11/12/2014 at 09:23 |

Yeah. Once I was tasked with driving my bosses Ram 2500 with a big V8. On the way to our destination we got diesel. $250 dollars later....
![]() 11/12/2014 at 09:28 |

That's good. I think Opponaut "Nick breaker of cars" has one that's always having problems.
![]() 11/12/2014 at 10:29 |

that's a lot of dinosaur juice! I can definitely get behind 4cyl cars for DD use, I'm sure you & the boss had good reason for that drive, but it blows my mind that so many people drive themselves around in trucks/body on frame SUVs @ 12mpg. So expensive! And no fun

Love all the Cars!
